Jasmin Singh (pseudonym) is a woman who is 21 years old. She completed high school in India and is currently studying Allied Health at Middlesex County College, working towards becoming a Registered Nurse(RN). She wants to build a successful career in healthcare, help others, and contribute to the community. She immigrated to the USA in 2023, so it’s been around 2 years. Her move to the USA has been a challenging yet rewarding journey. She is learning to adapt to a new culture, adjust to the education system, and grasp new English skills. This required effort and patience; however, she has grown personally and academically. Recorded on Voice Memos.

In this interview, Jasmin reflects on her upbringing. Growing up in India, she was taught the importance of respect, family, and hard work—values that continue to guide her while building a new life abroad. Her childhood was filled with love, simplicity, and a tight-knit community. Jasmin wants others to understand that most immigrants come with hope and a desire to contribute. “We work hard, respect the rules, and want to build a better life. Not just for ourselves, but also for the communities we join.”
